Who Should Attend?
All employees who undertake work at height operations as part of their work tasks.
Learning Outcomes
The course covers the following areas so the learner will:
? Have an awareness of relevant legislation
? Be aware of the competency and training requirements
? Understand hazards and control measures
? Understand safe working practices
? Understand equipment inspections
? Understand rescue requirements
Modules will cover
? Definition of working at height, industry specific regulations, accident statistics and hazard awareness
? Understand legislation including Health & Safety at Work Act 1977, PUWER, LOLER, WAHR, MHSWR, PPER
? Competency training requirements
? Hazards and suitable control measures including risk assessments
? Types of working at height equipment
? Inspection requirements
? Accident types and injuries
? Rescue requirements including rescue plans and equipment
The course contains both practical and theory-based learning. There will be a practical and written assessment conducted and assessed by the instructor to ensure competency has been achieved. Upon successful completion, the candidate will be issued with certification by the ECITB, valid for 3 years.
