We are a training company specifically targeting the engineering and construction sectors and are run by Mick Heatlie, who brings vast experience to the business. Read on to find out more about Mick and his industry experience.
I enjoyed a successful and rewarding military career for 24 years, after which I moved into the learning and development arena. My focus has been mainly within the Engineering/Construction/Logistics sector, where I have utilised many of my military skills, building and managing key relationships, which has continually improved employee knowledge and skill development. My expertise within the skills arena has been utilised on many advisory groups within the sector, demonstrating excellence in strategic leadership roles at Humber LEP, where I am a member of the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership Employability and Skills Board and Chair of the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership Strategy and Implementation Group.
These roles allow me to help develop and oversee the delivery of the Employment and Skills strategy for the Humber and to ensure that local people have the skills to compete for jobs by supporting skills development in key sectors that are critical to the growth of the economy. I am also the Vice Chair of Governors at the Engineering Northern Lincolnshire University Technical College with responsibility for making sure the school provides good quality education and to help raise pupils’ standards of achievement.
I am married to Kim and have four Girls – Lorna, Anna, Lydia and Charlotte. An avid Doncaster Rovers Supporter, I also enjoy playing golf and road cycling.
