Who Should Attend? Those appointed within a workplace as a first aider, and those who provide first aid in voluntary and community activities, whose current certificate is about to expire. Learning Outcomes The course covers the following areas so the learner will: ? Understand how to assess an incident ? Manage an unresponsive casualty ? Understand how to perform CPR including Defibrillators ? Understand and manage a range of illnesses and injuries including heart attacks, choking, head and spinal injuries, fractures, anaphylaxis and more Modules will cover ? The role and responsibilities of a first aider ? Assessing an incident ? Managing an unresponsive casualty ? CPR and AED use ? Recovery Position ? Heart Attack ? Stroke ? Choking ? Epilepsy ? Asthma ? Diabetes ? Anaphylaxis ? Shock ? Head & Spinal Injuries ? Chest Injuries ? Wounds & Bleeding ? Fractures ? Sprains, strains and dislocations ? Minor Injuries ? Burns & Scalds ? Poisoning ? Eye Injuries Candidates will undertake multi-choice, theory and written assessments on days 1 and 2 of the course, the successful completion of which will result in the awarding of a QA Level 3 certificate in First Aid at Work (QCF) which is an Ofqual Regulated Qualification accredited by Qualsafe Awards. Valid for 3 years. Maximum attendees ? 10 people
